Parking and shuttles
Limited on-campus parking will be available to guests attending festivities on June 4 and 5. While there is no cost to Hooding or Commencement guests to park in MIT-owned lots or garages, space is limited. You may find that these spaces are already full by the time you arrive on campus and that you will need to park in a public lot (options listed below).
Limited on-campus guest parking locations (no charge):
Nearby paid public parking garages:
- University Park Garage at 55 Franklin Street
- Cambridge Center West Garage at 77 Ames Street
- One Memorial Drive Garage
- Technology Square Parking Garage (entrance on Broadway)
- 245 First Street Garage
For more Cambridge parking options, please see Parkopedia.
Commencement guests may be dropped off at the entrance to Killian Court on Memorial Drive (recommended for those who are not able to walk from either an MIT or public parking garage, as most parking is more than a block away.) Be sure that if your party splits up, the driver retains his or her Commencement ticket.
Members of the MIT community who drive to campus should review the campus changes that are in effect during Commencement time. Thank you.
The (free and accessible) Tech Shuttle will run on Commencement Day, with stops located near Killian Court, parking areas, the Kendall Square T, and campus-adjacent hotels.
