MIT community members, please note that limited parking will be available to guests attending the 2015 Commencement festivities. We appreciate your understanding as we welcome the families and friends of our graduates to campus. Parking, security arrangements, and other access changes that will affect the campus community are noted below. Please continue to check back leading up to June 5 for additional updates.
Due to an influx of guests traveling around campus, all parkers, especially with North Area permits, are encouraged to seek alternate commuting options on Friday, June 5. The Albany Garage, N10 Annex Lot and N10 Lot will be reserved for guest parking.
From approximately 9:15 am until 10:30 am, please expect the following road closures and changes:
- Massachusetts Avenue from Vassar Street to Memorial Drive is closed (heading south).
- Amherst Street is closed both directions.
- Cambridge-bound traffic will be held up on the Harvard Bridge for anyone who wishes to continue north on Massachusetts Avenue from Boston.
In celebration of Commencement and to ease traffic concerns, delivery trucks will have no access to certain areas of campus and only restricted access to the remainder of campus on Commencement day, Friday, June 5. MIT has communicated this to its partner and preferred vendors and to other vendors that routinely deliver to campus. Members of the community are asked to plan accordingly. Please contact Susan Bolster, Supervisor of Mail Services, at 324-3577 or firstname.lastname@example.org, with any questions.
